Three major legends of Bay Area thrash metal are shaking the ground of festival stages in Europe during summer season 2026: METAL CHURCH, DEATH ANGEL and TESTAMENT. A package that makes the heart of each thrash metal jump, especially if you were young in the 1980s. And this package hasn’t disappointed, especially not when they took the time for a club show at Cologne’s Essigfabrik in Germany – a whole night of the finest Bay Area Thrash Metal!
Tyla, Todd and Dane – Phil Campbell’s offsprings – featuring Julian Jenkins (FURY) on vocals keeping the flame and the spirit alive as PHIL CAMPBELL’S BASTARD SONS after the tragic death of their father. With their 2026 summer gigs this combo gives proof of their capabilities as a fantastic live band. Their mix of Mötorhead songs and their own material is a great mix of metal, hard rock and rock ‘n’ roll. Lemmy and Phil will be watching proudly from heaven. Rounding up the package as support was JAKE & THE CONVOLUTION.
The second day of Rokki Raikaa Tampere brought energetic performances from Michael Monroe, Marko Hietala, Steve ‘n’ Seagulls, Lost Society, Turmion Kätilöt, Tarot, Cemetery Skyline and Apocalyptica to the Hakametsä Ice Hall parking lot.
The smaller stages were anything but quiet on day two! 🔥 He Who Dwells, Alyxx, Forge The Sun, Approaching Autumn and Set It Off, among others kept Upheaval Festival rocking.
THE PRETTY WILD fired up the room — HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD blew the roof off. A great night of dynamic performances and a blend of rap-metal, nu-metal and a variety of other styles created a massive excitement. The Im Wizemann venue was sold for a long time already and the room packed up to the last bit of space. After the show was over you did know why!
CEMETERY SKYLINE with their only 10 gig spanning EU 2026 Tour stopped in Stuttgart for one night. Their musical style is built on cold synth layers, heavy dark‑metal tension and a slow‑burning intensity that filled the room from the first note. ROYAL SORROW set the tone early with a raw, melodic surge that highlighted why they’re one of the most talked‑about newcomers in the scene. A night where atmosphere and heaviness merged into something unmistakably powerful.
One night, one band: MACHINE HEAD. The California based combo came to Ludwigsburg to take the audience on an almost 3 hrs ride through the band’s history. Robb Flynn and his fellow bandmates delivered a blasting show with stunning visuals, great sound, flames and lights. It was simply amazing and crowd followed actively with massive circle pits and a large number of crowdsurfers. A truly genuine concert experience!
Saturday at the Clyde Theatre it Smelled Like a Freakshow with Avatar rolling into Fort Wayne with their “Don’t Go In The Forest tour”, bringing along the amazing Italian symphonic death metallers Fleshgod Apocalpyse and Texan death metal grinders Frozen Soul!
33 Years after their “last” show, Belgian cult thrash outfit Dead Serious is back and played live in our own venue Asgaard with the support of Steamroller and Phoenix Rebellion! Of course we were there!
Ending our weekend, getting pumped to get through a new week, is there anything better to get energized than going for a proper heavy metal show? NITE more than delivered at On The Rocks in Helsinki with the support of Ratbreed!
