On first Day of Rokki Raikaa Tampere we had a blast with Eläkeläiset, Kotiteollisuus, H.E.A.T, Poets of the Fall, Klamydia, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius and Amorphis in front of Hakametsä Ice Hall.
Different scenes, one packed venue, and a whole lot of good vibes. Nenerchy celebrated the release of her debut album ‘Bailarina’ with a sold-out party at On The Rocks in Helsinki, joined by Kirkkovene.
We got to see a glimpse of Witch Fever, Bush and Volbeat when they came to Tampere’s Nokia Arena as the stop in Finland of the ‘Greatest Of All Tours’ tour! An event by Live Nation Finland.
On this day, we partied like it was 1994, when punk rock legends The Offspring brought their massive rock ‘n’ roll show to a sold-out Helsinki Ice Hall during their “Supercharged Worldwide European tour” with special guests Simple Plan.

Tamperes first edition of Rokki Raikaa started on 24th of July with beautiful weather. We had a rocking party with Eläkeläiset, Kotiteollisuus, H.E.A.T, Poets of the Fall, Klamydia, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius and last but certainly not least Amorphis!
On the second day of Graspop 2025, our reporter there enjoyed the shows of Gloryhammers, Falling In Reverse, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, Skillet and of course metal greats Slipknot bringing their show for the 9th time to the holy grounds of Dessel!
The first day of Graspop was filled with amazing power metal from Powerwolf, Beast In Black and Warkings, nostalgia with Yellowcard and heavy metal legends with Iron Maiden for our reporter there!

Somehow this one got stuck in purgatory, but the last and third day of Punk Rock Bowling 2024 was yet another amazing day, with impressive women on stage with Doll Riot, Kate Clover, Vial, Die Spitz, Bratmobile, and Scowl, and good old fun with English Beat, Stiff Little Fingers, Gogol Bordello, and the end of a several decade wait to see Madness live in the US!
Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival 2024 was long and hot, but definitely worth it for any punk and hardcover lover with the first day our resident punker catching shows from The Iron Roses, Bad Cop Bad Cop, Teen Mortgage, The Skatalites, 999, Madball, Billy Bragg, Gorilla Biscuits and The Descendants!
Day 3 of Rebellion Festival 2023 in Blackpool, our resident punk managed to catch shows from Slackrr, Rumkicks, Los Fastidios, TV Smith & Friends, The Chisel, The Meteors and Millie Sanders & The Shutup, making it yet another exciting day of good music!
The 3rd day of Graspop Metal Meeting 2023 brought a lot of firsts for our team member there, seeing shows of Architects, Rancid and Pantera, but also some of her favorites like Halestorm, In Flames and of course, the band that is very near and dear to her heart: Parkway Drive!
The second day of Rebellion Festival 2023 was filled with surprises and nostalgia with bands like The Zips, Red London, Turtles JR, Spizz Energi, Bar Stool Preachers and last but not least, the two-tone legend Neville Staples from The Specials to get everyone skanking.

The summer festival season is over, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of exciting fests happening over the next couple of months this autumn/winter in Finland, starting with Cult of Darkness today, Helsinki Techfest, and HKI SKEPU FEST VI this month still, Pakanafesterit in October, Hellsinki Industrial Festival and Melancholy Mass Festivals in November, and John Smith Rock Frozen in December! And for the beer and music lovers, several Masis Beer & Metal events spread over the next couple of months all over Finland! Go get your tickets now!
After the team sent in their top lists at the end of last year, and calculating the results, we got to an interesting “albums of the year 2023” list featuring releases from Marduk, Kludde, Blink-182, Blackbraid, Orbit Culture, Gloryhammer, Ne Obliviscaris, Hypno5e, Periphery, Dying Fetus, Obituary, Avatar, Svalbard, VV and Sleep Token! Do you agree with any of these? What did you have in your top list?
Gary’s albums of the year venture away from our more standard metal selection with a bunch of stellar punk releases from bands like The Bar Stool Preachers, Grade 2, The Darts, The Dollyrots, Rumkicks and Rancid, but also sidesteps into other music like the special brand of rock that Public Image Ltd. brings, blues rock with Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton, an acoustic Dropkick Murphys and a trip back into time, reminiscing about London’s legendary Batcave Club!
